The Promise Arrives- 11/2/2025
Imagine the anticipation building in that upper room in Jerusalem. The disciples had been waiting, just as Jesus commanded, for the "promise of the Father" (Ac. 1:4). They gathered in prayer, preparing their hearts for something extraordinary. And then, on the day of Pentecost, it happened: the Holy Spirit descended in power, fulfilling prophecies and transforming lives forever. Today, as we dive into Acts 2:1-13, we'll see that this wasn't just a historical event; it's a living promise for us. The promise has arrived, not only for those first believers but for every follower of Jesus who seeks Him. This scene leaves us amazed, perhaps even bewildered, much like the crowd that day. But as we unpack it, we'll answer key questions: What really happened? Which promise was fulfilled? What changes take place when a believer receives the baptism of the Holy Spirit? And can we expect this today?
